These concepts and awareness can lead to better relationship with self and others
For years, I heard the elusive words and phrases: ‘worthy’,’ deserving’, and ‘love yourself’. Every time, these concepts have reached me like a new wave from the ocean of knowledge, to die at the shoreline separating my knowledge from the sunny ground of understanding.
One day, I found myself saying to someone I loved, that my worth is not dependent on their perception of my value. I heard myself speak those words, like something larger than life coming through, from beyond me. I said those words but did not fully understand what I had said. Somewhere in my heart, I knew it was true. My consciousness has not yet caught up with my intuition.
I felt lost about how to understand and explore the concept of ‘self-worth’. How do we value ourselves? What does it look like? What stops us? Where do I stand, in regard to my perception of my own value? What does it even mean?
